A Message from the Publishers:

In 1965 I bought my first guitar... it was the cheapest electric guitar ever made by Gibson. Inspired by the latest Beatles hit, "Day Tripper", I began a love affair with music and entertainment. The guitar was a great way to maintain some sense of cool, while I played the upright bass in the Peoria High School Orchestra. After per- forming in a local cast of "Up With People", I realized that being involved with music and the performing arts was going to be a life long passion.

Fast forward to 1994 and the first year Robin and I published the Performing Arts Magazines. Who could have dreamed of the growth and significant role that the arts have played in the Nashville landscape over the past 14 years?

In celebration of our passion for the arts, last year we launched our first newsstand magazine as an annual guide, celebrating the best that Nashville has to offer in Arts and Entertainment. Very rarely in life does reality exceed expectation, except in the case of "Nashville Arts and Entertainment Magazine". From reader responses to newsstand sales, we could not have imagined a better beginning.

As the second annual edition hits the newsstands, you will find that we have added sports, shopping, antiquing, historic homes plus an updated Best of Nashville guide. All this in addition to the great live music venues, Nashville musical traditions, and the plethora of gallery and museum choices from our past issue. Nashville is truly a multi-cultural, creatively diverse cen- ter with so many great art and entertainment choices. We've also added a section of what not to miss this year, included insider information on how to get around, the best times to go and where to find additional information, to help manage your time. But the magazine is so much more than that. From Reba to the winners of the Ten Most Interesting People, there is a wealth of engaging stories inside. Award winning photographer Ed Rode gives us an exclusive sneak peek into his songwriter's portfolio. Country music sensation Taylor Swift talks openly and candidly about her life, and Nashville icon John Seigenthaler, Sr. remembers Joseph Kennedy's insightful advice on the virtues of being loyal. Remarkable photographs, unforgettable stories and the users guide, will make this a welcome addition to your coffee table. You can pick up a copy of "Nashville Arts and Entertainment Magazine" at finer bookstores in the Nashville Area.

We hope you enjoy reading tonight's publication, and as always we value your input so please feel free to email us with comments and suggestions. Enjoy tonight's performance!
